opposites

does the opposite of a microwave exist? something that freezes stuff super quick, like in seconds? something besides the icy gaze of a heartless woman? does this exist?

if not, why not? i feel like freezing has always come second to heating and i have to wonder if this is a product of the invention of fire during the ice age. if mans life was at one time linked to fire and death to ice, does it not that make sense that the production of the microwave has preceded the insta-ice? i guess i can understand why throughout thousands of years our number of things that make fire has so drastically outnumbered our number that make ice but maybe it’s time to break free of our collective cavemen pasts and step into the 21st century, ice-cannon in hand.
