status

hello world of facebook. i don’t care who any of you voted for. please stop coming up with topical election related statuses. i’m not sure if that is the plural of status or there even is such a thing but i digress. i get it. you are happy. you are possibly taking a deep breath as you say or excited for a life filled with hope. you believe in this country again and you are sooooo glad we baracked the vote. your life has been forever changed and you think that speech sounded so much like kennedy. i get it. you voted for someone and they won and one of the worst president’s in u.s. history is leaving. here’s my problem. you all blow the entirety of your elation-load in the month leading up to and night of the election. then you’re spent. you spend the better part of four years not doing much besides a visit to cnn.com or a few episodes of the daily show and everything you were so concerned about disappears from your barroom chat. if you all treated this like one more day and continued the argument and the discourse and the conversation, well we might not end up in situations like the last 8 years again.

that said, please all change your status from it’s current moment-grabbing ball-exploding joy to something like “let’s keep talking about it” or “i’m glad were all more conscious” or “what’s next?”
