note to self
when selecting halloween costumes, unless you are going to a costume party full of either film majors or film reviews or any variety of cinephiles, don’t choose a marginally obscure movie character. the average party-goer has no clue who you are, is unimpressed when you tell them and probably thinks you are a pretentious asshole who did it just so they could have some kind of air of superiority upon explaining the costume. from now on i’m just going as a literal pun costume. everyone loves those.
side note. wow i do a lot of sidenotes. i should figure out how to effectively do footnotes like the late and unflinchingly brilliant david foster wallace so i can avoid always saying “side note”. okay, that was a side note within a side note. enter infinity. but yeah, side note, mix-media costumes are awesome. geriatric jones blew my mind. i need to figure out how to involve an ipod or projection screen into next years costume.
